Maricela Gonzalez Wilson, BSN, RN

Maricela Gonzalez Wilson graduated from University of St. Thomas in Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1980. She has worked many areas of nursing, has participated in various research studies, has authored and co-authored several articles in medical and nursing journals.

Marcie has been the Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke Community Educator for Seton Healthcare Family of Hospitals since 2005. This role has provided the opportunity to educate the local community on preventive measures. She was one of the founders of the Austin & Central Texas Hispanic Nurses Association and continues to mentor nursing students.

Marcie is also involved at the state and national levels.  She was appointed to the Governor’s Council on Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke in 2016 for a six (6) year term. Is the past chair of the Texas Department of State Health Services Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke Partnership as well as state and national committees for the American Heart /American Stroke Association.
